With a grateful heart I share the following words from current and former students:
"I am so grateful for Tami and for Hearth Yoga. I have done many yoga classes throughout the last decade with a variety of instructors. I first met Tami 5 years ago at Yoga 4 Cancer classes. They were my favorite yoga sessions I ever attended because of Tami’s warm personality, her extensive expertise, and the meticulous planning she put into each class. As soon as the pandemic hit, Tami immediately set up her first Zoom yoga class to take care of her students through Hearth Yoga. The rest is history. I have attended a variety of her classes over the last 5 years and each one is custom tailored to her students’ needs. I can’t say enough about Tami, Hearth Yoga, and her class offerings. She has changed my life for the better both fitness wise and on a spiritual level. She is a gift to us all!"

"Before starting my yoga practice with Hearth Yoga, I would gaze at the blankness of my yoga mat with puzzlement. I had taken classes elsewhere over the years but had never felt that the fit was right. I never felt truly comfortable on my mat.
I began taking bone health yoga at Hearth in January 2020. Tami integrates her health psychology knowledge with advanced yoga training to create a welcoming Zoom classroom adapted to all skill levels, abilities, any health challenges. I love that the focus is to strengthen while finding restorative calm. I love that humor and storytelling help to focus on the breath and bring joy to the work of building strong bones. I love that I have enhanced flexibility and no back pain. I love that balance is always improving. I learn during every class. I love that I can use my yoga breathing at work with double masks or in stressful situations.
When I began taking bone health and osteo yoga with Tami, I knew that I had found the best yoga teacher and home. Now when I look at my mat I see the possibilities of enjoyable poses, breathing, strength, flexibility, balance, calm, wellness."

"Ever since I can remember, I’ve always wanted to be able to learn how to achieve the peace of mind and body strength I grew up thinking Yoga would teach me. I tried yoga class as a young adult and I had good balance and could hold a pose with no problem. The only problem for me was after class; once it was finished I went back to “living” with anxiety and I had no knowledge how to accomplish that “Yoga” peace of mind and body I only felt within the four walls of the classroom. I quickly realized it wasn’t giving me what I was looking for.
As I’ve grown older and have had several serious health issues I have tried apps to help me breathe and calm my anxiety . I didn’t give up, I still felt that there has to be more to this breathing method that only worked for me when I was already in a relaxed state to begin with. When I tried breathing while in stressful situations, it did nothing for my anxiety or body.
This year I decided to go online and try again and see if I can find what I wanted in a Yoga class.
This is how I became a student of Hearth Yoga and I met Tami. Tami’s class is exactly what I always pictured true Yoga to be. Tami made it a point to know the reasons why I wanted to join her classes. Tami is aware of my health issues and with this knowledge she is able to prepare a specific class to help me learn to de-stress with proper breathing techniques and to prevent body aches by learning when and how to use yoga movements from a standing, sitting, or laying position. Tami has given me the tools that I’ve learned to use that I take with me wherever I go. Most of all, she checks in with me to learn how I am feeling every time we meet and she restructures my class based on what I need that day. I am able to feel peace of mind no matter what is happening around me and no matter where I am.
Today I feel confident that because of Tami’s knowledge and professionalism she has given me the Yoga practice I’ve always been looking for (and who knew all the different types of yoga studies there are?). Most importantly, she’s given me the peace of mind and body I always knew I could master."

"One thing I am grateful for in 2020 is that it brought about Hearth Yoga. I was very much a beginner with yoga when I started practicing with Tami, and she got me through quarantine—physically and psychologically healthier than I came in. I now can say I have a yoga practice thanks to her. She is the teacher I have always wanted, as Tami is both knowledgeable, integrating her yoga training and social health psychology background, and immensely personable. She is attentive to your particular level and pace and adapts postures to your abilities and needs. She explains well the breathing and poses, both how to do them and why they are beneficial. I appreciate her holistic approach and inspirational manner. If you either want to learn yoga or advance your current practice from the comfort of your own home, I wholeheartedly recommend Tami and Hearth Yoga. <3"

"I have been practicing yoga with Tami in the Y4C class for a few years. When I began our class it was in-person in a studio (Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center). When Covid arrived and studios closed, Tami continued our class via Zoom. I was a little skeptical at first as to how I would like doing yoga on Zoom. I can tell you I absolutely love it and hope it continues that way!
Prior to on-line, I would rush to get home from work, get changed and hurry to get to class on time. I love doing my practice in the convenience of my own home. Now without all the rushing, I am more relaxed before and ready to go when class begins. Tami is a very compassionate and kind hearted person to continue this class via zoom for me and my fellow yoga classmates. We not only have the convenience of being at home, we also still feel connected with one another. She begin and ends each class by giving all of us a chance to socialize with her and each other.
If you are new to Hearth Yoga, please join one of Tami's classes. I promise you you will not be disappointed. She is very knowledge in all aspects of yoga. She is very easy to follow and guides you throughout the practice. When class ends, you will feel peaceful and relaxed and thankful that you choose to practice yoga with Tami!"

"I’ve had a fairly contentious relationship with yoga in the past; either not having felt comfortable with instructors, or having to live up to pushing my body in ways I didn’t feel capable. Taking class with Hearth Yoga, alternatively, has been a bright spot throughout the 2020 journey, becoming an integral part of my self-care routine throughout it. Tami is a phenomenal instructor, story-teller, and fellow-adventurer, guiding us throughout each virtual class (& on that note: I love that I’m able to attend all the way from Utah!), and serving as an affirming voice along the way. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed Adventure Yoga and hope to participate in other class offerings in the coming year. Would encourage any and everyone in NJ or otherwise (while online is available) to try their hands at a class with Tami to take some time for themselves, their relaxation, and overall mental/physical health."

"I use yoga from the time I get up until the time I go to bed. The beginning of the day I move my feet in bed before getting out of bed to start my circulation. When I am waiting for the train into Philadelphia I use yoga by attempting to "do some trees" and balancing positions. When I am on the train, like Tami always says: while we are in line waiting, shopping, or somewhere like the train, practice yoga. While I walk in Philadelphia to work, I always try correcting my posture by aiming my head towards the sky. In work, I slip yoga in by eye movements. I look away from my compute screen for a while. While I am in a meeting with my supervisor, I do some breathing exercises to calm me down and help me focus. After work I run with a group and tell them to breathe in less and breathe out more. I do the finger exercises Tami has taught our class to help with my circulation while running and keep my hands warm. At bedtime, or if I wake up during the night, I do relaxing exercising to put myself back to sleep.
Yoga is a big part of my life and I feel better the next day after attending a class. Tami has taught me so much about my physical and mental state and made me a better person. She will show you how to modify your position so everyone can attend. I would highly recommend taking any type of yoga class with Tami before, during, and after a disease."
